Established in 2000 and based in London, Andy Martin Studio is a new generation design practice. It incorporates Architects, Interior Designers, Craftspeople, Furniture and Product Designers, and Futurists to allow a unique cross-fertilization of creative thought.
With a wealth of international experience, and award winning projects in London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Casablanca and Greece, the studio operates with a holistic approach to Architecture and Design, our mission to carry out ambitious projects at multiple scales and programmes, with a commitment to innovation, design and sustainability.
The Architectural side of the studio, AMA, is better known for designing some of London's best restaurants and high-end residential projects including the private homes of Noel Gallagher, Hotelier Olga Polizzi, and Writer/Commentator William Shawcross.
Andy studied Architecture at the Sydney University of Technology, and completed his training at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. He has worked with some of the most illustrious names in the Design and Creative worlds, including 5 years working alongside Marc Newson in Paris.
Originally hailing from Australia, he grew up on Sydney's Northern beaches, and has been designing furniture since his teenage years when he shaped his first chair using the same techniques employed in surfboard fabrication. After University he went on to shape for some of the world's top surf pros setting up businesses in Hawaii and then France.
He lectures widely on Architecture and Design and regularly serves as University studio critic, and is a board member for civic institutions and jury awards programs.
